Lesson 6 of 9 · 8 min
The scripts
The lines, in one place. Learn them, then make them sound like you.
Use them as a spine
Use these to learn the order. After your first few days, stop reading them word for word and respond to what the other person just said. Swap in their trade: plumber, spark, roofer, heating engineer.
How you sound matters more than the words. Plain and slightly unsure on the opener. Concerned when you ask about lost jobs. Unhurried when you ask for the meeting. Never bright and salesy in the first eight seconds.
Cold call
Hey… is this [Name]? Yeah, it's just [Your name] from J.V. Automations. I was wondering if you could help me out for a moment.
I'm not sure I'm talking to the right person. Who looks at how fast you get back to new jobs when you're on a van?
When a new job comes in, who rings them back, and how fast?
How many calls do you miss in a week? How many of those would have been a job? What's one worth? So what's that over a year?
Would you be opposed to 15 minutes? I'll show you what we set up for a [trade] in the same spot. If it doesn't fit, I'll say so. Mornings or afternoons? I've got [day] at [time] or [day] at [time].
Demo
Last time you said [their words]. Walk me through what happens from the missed call to you seeing it.
Picture Monday. You open your phone and there are jobs booked from the weekend that you never touched. The homeowner got a reply in seconds. You just see the bookings.
Setup is $7,500. $997 a month. You keep the jobs it books. Do you want this in, or is it a no?
After the call
Business: Town: Owner: Mobile: Email: Trade: The gap, in their words: The number they gave you: Demo time / install time: Outcome: demo booked / closed / follow-up [day and time] / no Price quoted: $7,500 + $997/month Anything I promised (only if I actually said it):
No check on this one. Read the scripts, then mark it complete. They are also on the calls screen under Scripts.
